Current Projects

Fox Hill Park: Improvement Project

About Fox Hill Park: Fox Hill Park is a 40-acre park located at 4825 South Himalaya Street. It currently features a playground for kids ages 2-12, a basketball court, rentable picnic shelter, and 0.5 mile walking trail (called Fox Hill Trail) that connects to West Tollgate Trail in the southeast corner of the park. Some of the proposed 2024 improvements include:

  • adding a specific play area in the playground for kids ages 2-5
  • formalizing social trails with crusher fine for easier maintenance
  • replacing the basketball court and adding a picnic shelter

Proposed Timeline: Winter 2024—Summer 2025

This project is made possible with funds from Arapahoe County Open Space and the City of Centennial. Please note that the design concepts and timeline presented are subject to change based on cost, weather, and needs.

Trails Recreation Center: Lap Pool Construction

About the Project: In January of 2025, the Lap Pool at the Trails Recreation Center was unexpectedly closed due to a suspected burst pipe. Contractors were found and testing began to locate the leak. This also required draining the pool and closing down the steam room, sauna, and hot tub due to safety concerns involving the empty pool. In March, several leaks were found, and construction began shortly thereafter to remove the pool deck in order to repair the pipes and patch the pool. Our contractors are working as quickly as possible to repair this issue; we appreciate your patience and understanding on this unexpected construction project.

Proposed Timeline: January—May 2025

No Name Trail: Reach 9 Project

About No Name Trail: No Name Trail is a 0.5 mile trail that connects Antelope Ridge Elementary School with Eaglecrest High School; it also joins with the Stanford Hills Trail and Copperleaf Trail. Trails Park and Recreation District oversees the trail system and open space in the area (excluding the HOA access points to the trail). In a joint project with SEMSWA and Mile High Flood District, a current project is underway to stabilize the water channel in the area to create a safer trail.

Proposed Timeline: Fall 2024-Spring 2025
