About TPRD

Trails Park and Recreation District

Formerly called Arapahoe Park and Recreation District, Trails Park and Recreation District (TPRD) is dedicated to providing and maintaining exceptional parks, trails, open spaces, and recreational amenities for residents living in unincorporated portions of Arapahoe County and Eastern Centennial.

This special district was formed on July 29, 1983, and oversees approximately 20 developed parks, 25 miles of trails, 3 facilities (the Trails Recreation Center, Lookout Park and Pool, and the Trails Skate Park), and over 300 acres of natural areas all within 10.5 square miles.

Anyone who rents or owns property within the district boundaries is considered to be an in-district resident, meaning that a portion of your property tax helps fund aspects of the park and rec district. However, those who live outside of the district can still access our facilities, programs, and recreational amenities – though it would be at a non-district price. "To enhance the quality of life for the families and individuals in our community by providing them with exceptional parks, trails, facilities, and recreational activities that foster overall well-being."
