Amey Schutz - Certified Personal Trainer
Amey is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and longtime group fitness instructor at Trails Recreation Center. She believes fitness should be fun and helps clients discover what motivates them to succeed.
Andrea Robinson - Certified Personal Trainer
With a Bachelor of Science degree and certifications in group fitness and personal training through AFAA, Andrea brings 20 years of experience as a personal trainer, including 17 years at the Trails Recreation Center. She also holds SilverSneakers, CancerFit, and joint replacement specializations and focuses on small-group personal training and specialty classes.
She loves building lasting relationships with her clients, many of whom have trained with her for more than a decade, and seeing their strength, confidence, and quality of life improve. Before entering the health and wellness field, she worked in behavior modification programs within the Department of Corrections. Her goal is to make physical activity enjoyable and sustainable by keeping workouts fresh, varied, and motivating.
Calisse Weidner - Certified Personal Trainer
Calisse Weidner has been teaching group fitness since 1995 and has been part of the Trails Recreation Center since the doors opened in 2004. With a background in social work, she originally became certified in group exercise right out of college and later expanded into personal training, where she found a natural connection between fitness, science, and the interpersonal skills she developed through social work.
Calisse loves the relationships and camaraderie that grow through fitness. She believes exercise is more sustainable when people can laugh, encourage one another, and enjoy being part of a community. Over the years, she has taught everything from step and kickboxing to personal training. And one of her most memorable past jobs? Birthday party clown—also known as “Loopie the Clown.”
Chad Leland - Certified Personal Trainer
Chad holds a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and has more than 20 years of fitness industry experience. He specializes in strength and conditioning, personal training, and youth sports performance.
Emily Howell - Certified Personal Trainer
With a lifelong love of movement, Emily grew up playing competitive soccer in Idaho and doing aerobics alongside her mom. She has been teaching fitness since 2006, with experience ranging from bootcamps to Pilates, and joined the Trails Recreation Center in 2014. She also holds personal training certifications and has coached her kids’ soccer teams.
What she loves most about fitness is helping others experience the joy, connection, and confidence that come from movement. She especially enjoys finding a sense of “flow” in class—when movement, music, breath, and community all come together. Outside of Trails, she has a degree in Linguistics, enjoys working with refugee and immigrant populations teaching ESL, and is a mom of five with a squinty cat named Kenny.
Genevie Davenport - Certified Personal Trainer
Genevie Davenport is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach with a master’s degree in special education. She has been a personal trainer at the Trails Recreation Center for more than three years and specializes in strength training, weight-loss goals, and working with youth and adults with special needs and exceptionalities.
Genevie is passionate about helping people make realistic lifestyle changes that improve their health, strength, and overall well-being. Her certifications include NASM Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, 200-hour Yoga Certification, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
Karmen Davis - Certified Personal Trainer
Karmen has a college background in fitness and brings extensive experience as both a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. Growing up with a father who was a health professor and multi-sport coach, fitness and an active lifestyle were always part of her life. After taking time away to raise her children, she returned to teaching 16 years ago and has been with the Trails Recreation Center for about five years.
Karmen loves helping people stay active in ways that support health, confidence, and functional fitness. She encourages participants to work within their own limits, celebrate progress, and build connections with others in class. She teaches a variety of formats, including Yoga, Fusion, Splash, Cardio Core and Stretch, Deep Water, and Yoga Sculpt. Fun fact: she once did yoga on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”!
Moe Yousif - Certified Personal Trainer
Moe is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer dedicated to helping people unlock their full potential through fitness, nutrition, and sustainable lifestyle changes. Specializing in strength and conditioning, body building, and body transformations, he brings both expertise and real-life experience to every client relationship. As someone who lives with Type 1 diabetes and has overcome open-heart surgery, Moe understands firsthand the power of perseverance and is committed to helping others build healthier, stronger lives.
Renee Durrer - Certified Personal Trainer
Originally from California, Renee also lived in Reno, Nevada, before moving to Colorado four years ago. She holds a degree in education and certifications in personal training, yoga, and SilverSneakers, along with additional training in nutrition, pain-free performance, and strength and conditioning. She has been teaching fitness for about 10 years and has been subbing classes and training at the Trails Recreation Center for the past year.
Renee is passionate about supporting both the physical and mental well-being of her participants and loves seeing them gain confidence and make progress. Her teaching style blends challenge, safety, and encouragement, with modifications to help each person succeed. Outside of fitness, she enjoys trying new foods, exploring new places, and taking on new adventures.
Sharon Mitchell - Certified Personal Trainer
A Colorado native, Sharon brings decades of experience in fitness, movement, and rehabilitation to her work at the Trails Recreation Center. She holds a degree in Social Work from Colorado State University, has been an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 1998, a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since 2013, and a 500-hour certified Himalayan Institute Yoga Instructor who has been teaching yoga since 1996. She has been with Trails since 2016.
Her approach focuses on helping people move with less pain, improve posture and balance, and maintain strength and independence as they age. Drawing from personal training, yoga, physical therapy, breathwork, and meditation, she especially enjoys finding ways to help people feel better in their bodies so they can enjoy life more fully.
Samara Sahouri Bannoura - Certified Personal Trainer
Originally from Bethlehem, Palestine, she moved to the United States three years ago after studying Hotel Management and Project Management at Bethlehem University. Her path into fitness began when a trainer encouraged her to pursue certification, and she now holds NASM certifications in Personal Training and Corrective Exercise. She has been coaching for more than two years and has been part of the Trails Recreation Center team for over two years.
She is especially passionate about helping seniors and women feel comfortable, supported, and confident while exercising. She enjoys combining cardio and strength training to keep workouts safe, effective, and fun. Outside the gym, she loves cooking, music, and dancing, and she is fluent in both Arabic and English.
Timbo Velasquez - Certified Personal Trainer
Tim has been part of the Trails Recreation Center for nearly six years and brings more than 15 years of coaching and training experience. Growing up as the youngest of nine siblings, sports and competition were a major part of his life. He went on to compete collegiately and professionally and is certified through both ISSA and NASM, with additional experience in strength and conditioning, powerlifting, kettlebell training, TRX, Les Mills, balance, and flexibility.
Tim is passionate about helping athletes and clients recognize what they are capable of, build confidence, and grow both physically and mentally. He especially enjoys seeing people push past limits they once thought were impossible. Deeply connected to his Indigenous roots, Tim has also presented at a national conference on Indigenous drowning prevention and safety and is committed to supporting health and wellness in his community.
