Trails Recreation Center FAQs

General:

The Trails Recreation Center is closed on Christmas Day. We also have an abbreviated schedule for other holidays. To see that, click here.

We use the Arapahoe County website to verify if an address is in-district. The best way to determine residency is to examine your Property Tax Statement from Arapahoe County.  The Park district advises that you take your Property Tax Statement with you when you need to identify yourself as a resident of the park district.

If you believe there is a mistake with your account, please bring your Property Tax Statement with you and talk to the staff at the front desk.

Yes. You can purchase either a yearly or monthly membership, or purchase a day pass.

Yes, please ask the Front Desk attendant for a re-entry pass before leaving the facility.

Children 12 years and under can access the facility with an adult (16 years +) supervision.

You do not need a membership to participate in a class or program! You would need to sign up for an Amilia account and then register for the desired class or program.

An annual membership does not allow you to bring a free guest. A day’s admission would need to be purchased, either In District or Out of District, or you can purchase punch passes.

The Memberships are specific to the individual and cannot be transferred to family members or friends.

We do not have access to the vending machines. However, there is a telephone number to contact on the machine to request a refund: Canteen tel: 303-722-2861

Kids must be 12 or older to be in the facility without adult supervision and 15 or older to use the fitness equipment.

Children can stay in the nursery for a maximum of 2 hours each day.  If you are in District the rate to pay at the Front Desk is $3.50 per hour for 1 child, and Out of District $4.50 per hour for 1 child.

Reservations do need to be made in advance and the hours of operation are listed on the website.  You will be required to stay in the building during this time.

If you purchase the Annual Membership then you are eligible to purchase this pass. Talk to the staff at the Front Desk to add this.

Cultural Arts

Your child should wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for free movement without causing a tripping hazard. Tap classes and Sampler classes need Tap shoes; ballet and Sampler classes need ballet slippers, and all other youth dance classes need tennis shoes. We do sell ballet and tap shoes at the Trails Recreation Center.

We offer Ballet, Burlesque Meets Broadway, Belly Dancing, Heels, Line Dancing, and Dance Workshops for adults.

Cooking classes begin at age 9 because students need to be able to see above a pot sitting on a hot stove, and students will learn knife skills. We do not allow younger students in our cooking class. However, we do offer Cooking and Crafting, which is for students as young as age 5. This class does not use an oven or sharp knives.

We do supply our art classes with different materials. The exception is our pottery class, where adult students need to buy a bag of clay as well as the firing fee, which is sold separately. If you fire your items in your own home kiln, you do not need to purchase the firing fee. This fee covers every piece of art you can create with your 25 lb. bag of clay.

Currently there are not any opportunities, though we hope to expand this in the future.

We are happy to accommodate any individuals with disabilities. Please contact Paige Rogers at [email protected] or (303) 269-8402.

You are welcome to bring a friend with you the the gym, but we only allow Trails Park and Recreation District employees to provide private training, coaching, instructions, or lessons on TPRD property.

Due to privacy concerns, we are not able to access this information, although if you contact your Insurance Company they should be able to check your eligibility.

Other Programs

Our Taekwondo program starts at age 4 with our Tiny Tigers class and runs through adulthood!

Karate originated in Okinawa, Japan, emphasizing a range of striking techniques and traditional katas. Taekwondo, originating in Korea, focuses on dynamic kicks and acrobatic movements, with forms known as poomsae. While both martial arts share some common principles, their techniques, histories, and cultural influences differ significantly.

Trails Park and Recreation District partners with Collette Travel for all of our trips.
