Rules, Regulations & Policies

The Trails Park and Recreation District is committed to providing safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained spaces for everyone in our community. The rules, regulations, and policies outlined on this page are designed to protect our natural resources, ensure the safety of all visitors, and create a welcoming environment where everyone can make the most of what our parks, trails, open spaces, and facilities have to offer. We encourage all community members, visitors, and program participants to familiarize themselves with these guidelines — your cooperation and respect for shared spaces help keep TPRD a place we can all be proud of.

Additional rules, regulations, and policies may be implemented without notice at the discretion of the Trails Park and Recreation District Staff, and any other guidelines deemed necessary for the safety and comfort of our patrons will be strictly enforced.  Violations of the preceding rules or any other conduct that may endanger the safety of patrons and/or staff may be cause for permanent expulsion from the Recreation Center or other TPRD facilities at the discretion of Trails Park and Recreation District Staff.

Trails Park and Recreation District is not responsible for any accident, damage to vehicles and/or theft of belongings occurring on property owned and operated by TPRD.

If a child 17 years and younger is injured in the facility, and parents are unavailable, it is at the discretion of District staff to notify EMS, depending upon the injury. If there are any questions as to the severity of an injury, staff will automatically call 911.

Patrons not following policies or procedures, depending upon the infraction, will be asked to leave the facility for the day. Continual disruption by the same patron may lead to an extended suspension period from the center. A trespass notice will be issued to the individual as well as the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department. Parents of children 17 years old and younger will be notified by writing if possible. No refunds will be given during the suspension period.

There are two (2) ways to register for classes: online or walk-in. Online registration is the fastest and easiest way to register and will get participants in their designated class at the time of registration. Registration fees do not include the use of the facility before and after classes.

Cancellations within 5 days or less of the class start date will incur a 50% fee. No refunds for missed classes on behalf of the participant. Refunds are processed to the original payment method; allow up to two weeks for check refunds. Medical or relocation issues may qualify for a full refund. For more details, contact the program supervisor.

Parent Code of Conduct: Triple Threat Recreational League

Trails Park and Recreation District seeks to instill positive character-building traits in our communities’ youth through the demonstration of good sportsmanship, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship.  We ask that parents and their guests attending any Trails Park and Recreation District program help us by reflecting these character traits.

When attending Triple Threat League Games and practices at the Trails Recreation Center, I therefore agree:

  • I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game and/or practice.
  • I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent, such as physical threats, booing, taunting, using profane language or gestures, etc.
  • I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes.
  • I will teach my child to play by the spirit of the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • I will teach and require my child to treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect, regardless of race, sex, or ability.
  • I will not ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches or referees at the game, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed-upon time and place.
  • I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
  • I will inform the Trails staff of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.

I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to, the following:

Verbal warning by official, Athletics personnel and/or Trails Management; Written warning; Parental game suspension with written documentation of incident; Parental season suspension.
