Lookout Park: Public Planning Meeting 2 Recap
Lookout Park: Public Planning Meeting 2 Recap
Published: Tuesday, August 11, 2026
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the second public planning meeting for Lookout Park! Community input continues to play an important role in shaping the future of the park, and we appreciate everyone who has participated in the planning process so far.
During our first public planning meeting, we introduced several possibilities for future improvements at Lookout Park and asked the community to share feedback through an online survey. At Meeting 2, we reviewed what we heard from that survey and presented an updated park concept developed using the community’s feedback.
A Look at the Updated Park Concept
Based on feedback from the first meeting and survey, the planning team developed a single park concept that brings together several of the features and improvements that community members expressed interest in seeing.
The concept includes:
- A crushed stone connection trail providing access toward Lookout Pool and Picadilly Road
- A playground designed for children ages 5–12
- A separate but connected play area for children ages 2–5
- A vault toilet
- Crushed stone trail access to the existing shelter at the top of the hill from the south side
- A small bike loop
- Additional shade pavilions throughout the park
- Plantings along the fence line to help create a natural sound buffer
During Meeting 2, attendees had the opportunity to review the concept, ask questions, and share additional feedback directly with the planning team.
This concept is not a final design. The planning process is still underway, and we want to continue hearing from the community before moving forward.
Share Your Feedback by August 26
Were you unable to attend the meeting? You can still be part of the planning process!
Our Lookout Park feedback survey will remain open through August 26, 2026. We encourage residents and park users to review the proposed concept and let us know what they like, what concerns they may have and what they would like the planning team to consider as the project moves forward.
Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to attend a meeting or complete a survey. Your feedback helps us better understand how the community uses Lookout Park and what improvements are most important to those who live, play and recreate nearby.
What Happens Next?
Trails Park and Recreation District will continue working behind the scenes to evaluate the proposed improvements and incorporate community feedback into the planning process.
It is important to note that the planning process does not guarantee that all proposed improvements will be constructed. Future implementation and construction will depend on available funding sources, matching funds, and the project priority list established by the Trails Park and Recreation District Board of Directors.
We’ll continue to share updates as the Lookout Park planning process moves forward. Thank you for helping us shape the future of this important community park!
