Lookout Pool: Renovation (July 2026 Update)
Published: Monday, August 4, 2026
July was one of the busiest and most exciting months yet on the Lookout Pool construction site, with meaningful progress advancing on nearly every front — from the pool deck and bathhouse to the mechanical room, utilities, and site grounds. The project continues to build momentum heading into August as the project begins to wrap up. Here’s a detailed look at what crews accomplished this month and what’s on the horizon.
Deck and Pool Progress
Significant headway was made on the pool itself throughout July. Waterline tile and race line work are approximately 90% complete, with lap pool coping now finished and leisure pool coping pours moving along steadily. Electricians have been hard at work running underground wiring, bonding, and outlets across the pool area in preparation for the next phase of deck construction.
That next phase is nearly ready to begin. Trench drain excavation and underground plumbing and electrical work are wrapping up, and final grading and Class 6 base rock installation are in place — all of which sets the stage for a 5-phase concrete deck pour that will stretch through late August. It’s a major undertaking that will dramatically change the look and feel of the site over the coming weeks.
On the slide and water feature side of things, slide caissons were successfully poured earlier in the month, keeping that portion of the project on track. Slide delivery is scheduled for mid-August, and water feature assembly will follow once final pool plastering is complete. The pieces are coming together, and the pool is beginning to look like the destination it was designed to be.
Bathhouse and Building Addition
The bathhouse continues its steady march toward completion. Plumbing trim (including sinks, toilets, and drinking fountains) is on site and ready for installation, and counter and bench installations are already complete. Hardware, grab bars, corner guards, and final bathroom accessories are up next as the interior finishes out. Upgrades to restroom door lock hardware have been approved to ensure long-term safety and durability for guests, and soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers are being finalized for installation.
The building addition is also making notable strides. Masonry wall construction wrapped up quickly this month, and framers have cleared the way for roof installation to begin. Once roofing is in place, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins and the interior floor slab pour will follow, moving the addition closer to a finished state.
Mechanical Room and Utilities
The mechanical room has undergone a remarkable transformation over the course of July. Demolition and floor slab pours were completed earlier in the month, and equipment room walls were poured, allowing the mechanical contractor to begin moving in filters, core piping, and main pool equipment. This is a critical step: the mechanical systems are the engine that will keep the facility running safely and efficiently for years to come.
On the dry utility front, bore operations for the power upgrade were completed successfully, enabling crews to pull wiring and set the new main transformer. This work brings the facility one step closer to being fully powered and operational. Roofing shingle replacement and repair decisions have also been finalized, ensuring the overall facility maintains a consistent and polished aesthetic across all structures.
Cabanas and Grounds
Out on the grounds, shade sail foundations and post installations are underway, beginning to give shape to the outdoor spaces where guests will relax and gather. Final placement for the large cabanas was revised this month to properly account for slide runout spaces — an important adjustment that will improve the overall flow and safety of the site. Site work for the cabana pads will follow once the updated dimensions complete their city review.
Looking a bit further out, crews are also planning native grass reseeding along the access road and hill cut, with temporary watering measures in place to encourage quick, healthy growth and keep erosion in check as the surrounding landscape takes shape.
What's Coming in August
August is shaping up to be a defining month for the project. Here’s what crews will be focused on:
- Multi-stage concrete deck pours continuing throughout the month
- Slide component delivery arriving mid-August
- Completion of addition roofing, mechanical piping hookups, and final interior bathhouse fixtures
It’s been incredible to watch the site transform month by month, and the progress made in July is a testament to the hard work happening on site every day. We’ll have another full update ready at the end of August, so stay tuned. Thank you as always for your patience, your enthusiasm, and your continued support for this project — we can’t wait to share the finished Lookout Pool with the community!
