Lookout Pool: Renovation (August 2026 Update)

August brought another month of remarkable progress at Lookout Pool, with major structural work nearing completion, interior installations advancing rapidly, and key mechanical and aesthetic elements falling into place. As the project moves into its final stretch, the finish line is coming into clear view. Here’s a full look at what happened on site this month.
Structural and Concrete Progress
Concrete deck pours kicked off in mid-August and were nearly completed by month’s end, following the finishing of underground electrical wiring, bonding, and pool coping. It’s one of the most visually dramatic milestones of the entire project; the deck gives the facility a defined, finished shape and brings the overall design to life in a way that’s hard to miss. Edge curbs and mowbands are next on the list, which will then trigger final dirt and landscape grading across the site.
The building addition also made significant strides this month. Underground plumbing is complete, and the main floor slab was successfully poured. Framing is set to begin the first week of September, with windows and overhead garage doors scheduled for installation by mid-September.
On the waterslide front, pier caisson adjustments are currently underway to ensure perfect alignment for the slide tower, and the splashtacular slide installation is moving forward following final engineering sign-off. The slides are one of the most anticipated features of the new facility, and it’s exciting to see that work progressing on schedule.
Bathhouse and Interior Features
Inside the bathhouse, interior installations are advancing quickly and the locker rooms are beginning to look and feel complete. New lockers, grab bars, mirrors, hooks, corner guards, and baby changing stations are all fully installed, and shower tile work is wrapping up. The space is transforming into the polished, welcoming facility the community has been waiting for.
Work on the concession stand is also getting underway. Interior wall framing for the concession addition begins in early September, and bids for concession equipment have already been received.
Mechanical and Pool Systems
Inside the pump room, August brought major progress on the systems that will keep the pool running day in and day out. Mechanical housekeeping pads are in place, variable frequency drives (VFDs) are complete, and commercial filtration units are fully installed. These are the critical behind-the-scenes components that ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality water throughout the facility.
On the electrical side, final infrastructure steps are underway to transition the site to high-capacity 3-phase electrical power, a significant upgrade that will support the full range of equipment and systems the new facility requires. And with the mechanical systems nearing completion, main pool plastering is on track for early October, which will immediately start full water-tightness testing.
Aesthetics, Amenities, and Site Upgrades
August also brought exciting progress on the finishing touches that will define the guest experience at the new Lookout Pool. Custom Hanso outdoor cabanas have been officially ordered to enhance the deck lounging experience, and upgrades are underway for custom pool tiles, including TPRD logo inlays that will add a distinctive, polished look to the finished pool.
On the signage and wayfinding front, the health department-required signage inventory and a custom site branding plan have been finalized and are moving into design proofing, with delivery targeted for mid-October. And out on the grounds, approval and scope have been finalized for native grass reseeding and erosion control along the south hill and outer perimeter areas, ensuring the surrounding landscape is restored and ready for opening.
Key Milestones Ahead: September and October
The project is entering its most exciting phase yet, with a packed schedule of finishing work over the next two months:
- Early September: Building addition framing begins; final deck curbs and mowbands installed
- Mid-September: Window and garage door installations; final signage approvals
- Early October: Pool plastering, water-tightness testing, and concession equipment installation
