February 1–14 Progress Report

Lookout Pool: Renovation (February 1–14 Report)

Published: Tuesday, February 24, 2026

Construction continues to move forward at the Lookout Pool renovation project, and the first two weeks of February brought several important milestones. While much of the work happening right now is foundational and behind the scenes, these early phases are critical to ensure a safe, modern, and long-lasting aquatic facility for our community.

Pool Shells Fully Excavated

One of the biggest accomplishments from February 1–14 was the complete excavation of the pool shells. This marks a major step in the renovation process. Excavation prepares the site for rebuilding the structural components of the lap pool and other aquatic features. Proper grading and site preparation are essential to ensure long-term durability, drainage, and structural integrity.

Although it may not look glamorous, this phase lays the groundwork for everything that follows. With the pool shells excavated, crews are now positioned to move into more advanced construction stages.

Pool Contractor Mobilized

Another exciting development is that the pool contractor is officially on site and fully mobilized. This means specialized crews, equipment, and materials dedicated to pool construction are now actively working at Lookout Pool.

Mobilization signals the transition from demolition and preparation into focused rebuilding. With the contractor in place, progress will continue steadily as the structural and mechanical systems are installed in the coming weeks and months.

Underground Restroom Plumbing Completed

Beyond the pool itself, essential infrastructure work has also been completed for the new restroom facilities. Underground plumbing in the restrooms was installed and finalized during this reporting period.

This step is a major milestone because underground systems must be properly installed before additional construction can move forward. Once concrete and finishes are in place, these systems are no longer easily accessible. Completing this phase ensures reliable restroom functionality and supports long-term maintenance and efficiency.

Lap Pool Main Drains Installation

Crews are also installing the main drains in the dedicated lap pool. Main drains play a vital role in the pool’s circulation system, helping move water efficiently through filtration equipment to maintain proper water quality and safety standards.

Installing updated drain systems ensures compliance with modern codes and improves overall performance. While this work happens below the surface, it is one of the most important components of building a high-functioning aquatic facility.

Waterslide Plumbing Connection Underway

In addition to the main drains, crews are installing the plumbing connection between the lap pool and the waterslide system. This integration is essential for the slide feature to operate properly within the overall aquatic system.

Properly connecting these systems during construction ensures smooth operation and minimizes future maintenance issues. It’s another key step toward restoring the fun and interactive elements that make Lookout Pool such a popular summer destination.

We appreciate your patience as construction continues and look forward to sharing more updates as progress moves ahead.
