Trails Recreation Center: Facility Refresh — Phase 2 Complete

We have a major milestone to share: Phase 2 of the Trails Recreation Center Facility Refresh is complete!
The Gold Rush Room is fully open and ready to use, and the final remaining items from the Conestoga Room punch list have been wrapped up as well. After months of construction, planning, and patience from our community, both rooms are now finished and back in service.
Here’s a look at everything that was completed to bring Phase 2 across the finish line.
Gold Rush Room: Complete
When we shared our April update, the Gold Rush Room was in its final stretch — cabinets installed, kitchen flooring in place, the stackable folding glass walls up, and the room divider restoration underway. Since then, the remaining items on the schedule have all been completed:
- Carpet flooring has been installed throughout the room, completing the floor finishes and giving the space a warm, polished feel.
- Kitchen appliances are fully installed and operational, making the kitchen genuinely functional for programs, events, and rentals.
- Countertops in the Gold Rush kitchen are finished and in place, completing the kitchen renovation.
- The hanging kitchen display mirror has been installed, adding one of the room’s most distinctive design touches.
Taken together, these finishing elements complete a significant transformation of the Gold Rush Room — one that makes it more flexible, more functional, and better suited to serve the wide range of programs and events that call this space home.
Conestoga Room: Final Items Complete
As noted in our April update, the Conestoga Room was back in service but had a few remaining punch list items still outstanding — specifically the wall partition and updated lighting, both of which had been delayed due to longer delivery timelines.
Both items have now been delivered and installed. The Conestoga Room is fully complete.
What This Means for the Community
The Gold Rush and Conestoga rooms are two of the most-used spaces in the Trails Recreation Center — home to camps, cooking classes, visual arts programs, special events, community gatherings, and rentable event space. Having both rooms fully refreshed and operational heading into summer means our programs and renters have the best possible environment to work in.

What's Next
Phase 2 being complete doesn’t mean the work on the Trails Recreation Center stops. The multi-year Facility Refresh continues, with future phases addressing additional areas of the center. We’ll continue sharing updates here as plans progress.
