Village Park: 2026 Improvement Project (August Update)

Construction at Village Park continued to move forward in August, with crews completing demolition and shifting focus to underground utility work and site prep for the new amenities ahead.
Demolition at the site wrapped up in August, clearing the way for the next phases of construction and setting the stage for the utility and grading work to follow.
Utility Work for the New Restroom
With demolition finished, crews began installing the new water and sewer lines that will service the park’s new plumbed restroom facility. Getting these utilities in place is a critical step before the restroom structure itself can be built, and it keeps the project moving toward its goal of a fully staffed, weekly-maintained restroom for park guests.
Prepping for the Playground Retaining Wall
In the playground area, crews spent August preparing the site for installation of a new retaining wall; this is an important structural feature that will support the grading and layout needed for the new inclusive play structure for children ages 2-5.
Grading and Concrete Prep
Crews also completed final grading and site preparation in anticipation of upcoming concrete work, another key milestone as the project transitions from site work into the construction of permanent features.
