Lookout Pool: Renovation (February 15-28 Update)
Published: Friday, March 6, 2026
Building a Strong Foundation for the Lap Pool
Work continued steadily at the Lookout Pool renovation site during the second half of February, with several important construction steps completed to keep the project moving forward.
One of the biggest milestones during this period was preparation of the lap pool floor. A slinger truck was used to install the aggregate base beneath the lap pool before rebar and concrete were added. This base layer is an important part of the construction process because it helps create a stable foundation for the pool shell. It also improves drainage underneath the pool, allows for more precise leveling and compaction, and helps reduce the risk of hydrostatic pressure and settling over time. In simple terms, this layer acts as the critical base between the soil and the concrete structure of the pool.
Progress on the Activity Pool
Crews also made progress on the activity pool, where surveying and framing of the pool perimeter took place. At the same time, installation of the main drains in the activity pool was underway. These steps are essential in laying out the pool accurately and preparing for the next phases of structural and plumbing work.
Reinforcing the Lap Pool
Back in the lap pool, workers continued installing rebar in preparation for the upcoming concrete pour of the pool floor. Rebar plays a key role in reinforcing the concrete and helping the pool shell maintain long-term strength and durability.
Bathhouse Work Continues
Inside the bathhouse, the team focused on preparing the area for the upcoming concrete flooring pour. This work is helping set the stage for future progress inside the building as the renovation continues to take shape.
Looking Ahead
Overall, the second half of February brought meaningful progress across multiple areas of the project. From foundational work in the lap pool to layout and drainage installation in the activity pool, each step helps move the Lookout Pool renovation closer to completion.
We look forward to sharing more updates as construction continues.
