Join our Community CPR Training course and become certified in essential life-saving techniques for adults, children, and infants. Led by certified instructors affiliated with the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), this program covers rescue breathing, choking response, and CPR to help you gain the confidence and skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies.

Babysitter training offered through the Health and Safety Institute via the Trails Recreation Center. Students learn core skills facilitating actual hands-on babysitting effectively and safely. Training in this course shows students how to work with toddlers, how to identify potentially dangerous situations, how to summon emergency services, what safe practices can be utilized in emergencies, and more.
Content also covers formatting the business side of babysitting and what that entails. Components in class include appropriate babysitter behavior, communicating with children, safely managing children, communicating with adults, pricing, as well as other principles. Students will interact with each other and the instructor in a fun constructive learning environment. Instructors will work with students to gain a full understanding of what it takes to effectively and safely babysit children of multiple ages/backgrounds.

The Starguard Elite Lifeguard training course will guide students in various aspects of water safety. Upon completion of this course, you will receive your SGE lifeguard certification for up to 6ft of water for CPR/ AED, Oxygen, and First Aid. This certification is valid up to 1 year after course completion. You must attend all three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) to receive your certificate. 
Prerequisites: You will be required to take the following swim tests: swim 50 meters, swim 50 meters with a lifeguard rescue tube, tread water with no hands for 1 minute, and retrieve a 10lb brick at the bottom of the pool using a feet first surface dive technique

At Trails, we offer a blended Certified Pool Operator® (CPO®) course through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, This course combines online learning with an in-person session to review key concepts and complete the certification exam. Participants gain essential knowledge in pool operation, water chemistry, safety, and regulations. Materials include a PHTA CPO manual (included in the course cost). Upon successful completion, this certification is valid for 5 years.
