Trails Specialty Fitness Classes
The Fitness department at Trails Park and Recreation District is dedicated to providing the community with fun group fitness classes that’ll fit everyone – no matter their age or fitness level. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast seeking a new challenge or a beginner looking to find your groove, our group fitness offerings provide a supportive and inclusive space for all.Â
We offer a variety of classes for adults, seniors, youth, and kids to help everyone make fitness a habit in their lives; our classes are designed with fitness and health in mind. These Specialty Fitness classes are usually taught on a monthly basis, with classes lead by certified instructors or personal trainers. They’re also often smaller than our drop-in group fitness. Advanced Yoga Arm Balance & Alignment: 18+ years
This small group class will help patrons ready to explore more advance yoga movements. In addition, we will work on body alignment (particularly important for more difficult poses). We will incorporate yoga-based wellness principles as well covering movements that aid in different areas (digestion, sleep, optimal breathing etc).
NOTE: Yoga blocks are required; these can be purchased at the front desk.

Ball Pilates: 16+ years
Our Pilates class focuses on increasing strength, flexibility and muscle tone with a focus on improving posture, proprioception and functional strength. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. We will incorporate the use of a large stability ball and a small Pilates ball to expand your knowledge and explore new exercises.
NOTE: Pilates Balls are required; these can be purchased at the front desk.

Boot Camp: 18+ years
This intermediate to advanced class taught by a Certified Personal Trainer combines the best of cardiovascular and strength training for a workout that will challenge your mind and body. We will alternate between high intensity, low intensity, times intervals, using a variety of exercises through timed intervals of free weights, plyometrics, cardio training, core & balance work.

Fit at 60+: 60+ years
This intermediate total body conditioning class is designed for very active adults 60 & over who wish to increase their stamina and strength. The class encompasses multiple formats utilizing dumbbells, bands, steps, stability balls, and BOSUs. We stress functional training with an emphasis on core strength and stability.

HITT the Weights: 16+ years
Boost your metabolism with two exercise formats for weight loss: high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and weight training. Experience a fun, effective, and challenging workout using various exercises & choreography.

Have you ever wondered how people meditate? This class will teach you how to experience true meditation! Led by a Certified Personal Trainer with 20 years of Yoga experience and extensive training at the Himalayan Institute.

Power Hour: 16+ years
This interval style class consists of a combination of low impact aerobics, strength training, and balance and stability improving movements. Designed for active adults 60+ who wish to improve their overall stamina and strength.

Strength Circuit: 16+ years
This small group class is focused in helping you get and stay strong & fit. With the guidance of a Certified Personal Trainer, you will use a variety of free weights, machines, and body weight to challenge all of your muscles. Your strength will be mixed with cardio bursts to torch body fat and get you stronger and more fit than you ever thought was possible.
