Youth Ballet Lessons

Our ballet program offers a comprehensive pathway for students of all ages and skill levels to explore the art of dance. From the foundational movements in Pre-Ballet to the more advanced techniques in Ballet Intermediate, each class is designed to help students grow physically, mentally, and artistically in a fun and supportive environment. Whether your child is just starting out or ready to refine their skills, our ballet classes are designed to provide the structure, discipline, and creativity necessary to excel.

Each class focuses on building essential skills like coordination, balance, and flexibility while fostering a love for dance. Our experienced instructors tailor the lessons to meet the unique needs of each age group, ensuring that students progress at their own pace while enjoying the process. Ballet is more than just technique; it’s an opportunity for self-expression, confidence-building, and developing a lifelong love for movement.

Ballet Lessons

Registration periods for the Spring and Summer 2025 Sessions are as follows: 

  • Session 1 (March 24-May 16): Opens February 10 at 9:00 am and closes March 24
  • Session 2 (May 27-July 25): Opens February 10 at 9:00 am and closes May 27
  • Session 3 (July 28-September 19): Opens February 10 at 9:00 am and closes July 28

Pre-Ballet, designed for children ages 3-5, is the first in our series of ballet classes for kids, and teaches participants basic ballet terms and technique like a plié, tendu, and relevé in a fun and engaging way.

Start off on the right foot with a beginner ballet class that focuses on fundamental ballet terms and techniques. This youth dance class teaches poise, control, flexibility, and endurance by teaching various positions, moves, and vocabulary to students ages 5 to 10. This class is a great beginner class, or a follow up to Pre-Ballet.

Ballet Beginner II is the next step in our series of ballet classes for kids, after the successful completion of either Pre-ballet or Ballet Beginner. Expanding on ballet terms previously taught, students will focus on dance moves including tendu, sauté, relevé, and balancé to help students develop a more robust ballet knowledge.

Ballet Intermediate is a dance class that furthers a student’s ballet knowledge. Youth ages 8 to 15 will learn and practice ballet terms such as pas de bourrée, passé, piqué turn, and pirouette. 
*Students in this class must have instructor’s permission, or have successfully completed Ballet Beginner II.

Ballet Advanced is designed for adults and children, ages 10 and up. Youth ages 10 to 15 must first complete Ballet Intermediate and move up to the advanced class upon the teacher’s recommendation. All adult students should have a basic understanding of Ballet terminology.

Q: What should my child wear to ballet class? 

A: For ballet, students should wear a leotard and tights. Ballet slippers are required for all levels. Hair should be pulled back in a neat bun or ponytail for proper visibility and comfort.
