Construction at Fox Hill Park is well underway despite several snow delays earlier this year. Since our initial announcement in December, significant progress has been made towards enhancing the accessibility, functionality, and sustainability of this neighborhood park. With an anticipated completion in summer 2025, these improvements aim to cater to the diverse needs of our community while preserving the park’s natural beauty. Progress Highlights:
- Expanded Playground: Construction has commenced on the expanded playground, which will feature a new play area tailored for children ages 2-5. This addition, alongside the existing swing set and playground, will create a vibrant and inclusive play environment for children of all abilities.
- Upgraded Trails: The transformation of informal social trails into durable crusher fines trails is well underway. These enhancements will provide a safer, more reliable surface for walkers, joggers, and strollers, ensuring everyone can enjoy the park’s scenic beauty comfortably.
- New Basketball Court: The new basketball court surface has been poured, designed for improved durability and playability. Adjacent amenities, including a climbing boulder and picnic shelter, are set to complement the court, encouraging active recreation and socialization.
As we move forward, our commitment to sustainability remains strong. We are actively managing vegetation, removing noxious weeds, and reintroducing native plants to enhance biodiversity and support local wildlife.
