Table of Contents
Project Overview: The Fox Hill Park improvement project is transforming the park into a more accessible, engaging, and family-friendly outdoor space for the entire community. Highlights include an expanded playground with a brand-new play area designed specifically for children ages 2–5, upgraded crusher-fines trails that replace informal social paths, and targeted vegetation restoration to promote healthier native landscapes. These updates are driven by a commitment to safety, inclusivity, and sustainability—ensuring the park remains a welcoming place for all ages and abilities.
Visitors will also enjoy several enhanced recreational features, including a reimagined basketball court area with a new playing surface, a climbing boulder, and a shaded shelter perfect for picnics and gatherings. Additional improvements, such as updated trail signage and a new split-rail fence along the southern boundary, will boost navigation, protect natural areas, and help maintain the park’s open-space feel. Together, these upgrades reflect a thoughtful investment in the future of Fox Hill Park, providing residents with a vibrant, functional, and beautiful community destination for years to come.
About the Location: Fox Hill Park is a 40-acre park located at 4825 South Himalaya Street. It currently features a playground for kids ages 2-12, a basketball court, a rentable picnic shelter, and a 0.5-mile walking trail (called Fox Hill Trail) that connects to West Tollgate Trail in the southeast corner of the park.

Trails Park and Recreation District is excited to announce that the Fox Hill Park: 2024 Improvement Project is officially complete! All major enhancements — including the brand-new full-size basketball court, redesigned playground, natural-style climbing rock, upgraded crusher-fine trails, and improved sidewalk connections — are now open for the community to enjoy. The new picnic shelter, split-rail fencing, and updated trail signage have also been fully installed, creating a more accessible, functional, and inviting park experience for visitors of all ages.
In addition to the new amenities, crews have completed all vegetation restoration efforts, removing noxious weeds and reintroducing native plant species to strengthen the park’s long-term ecological health.
