Pool
Originally built in 2002, Lookout Pool has been a summertime favorite for our community for more than two decades. To ensure it continues to serve residents for years to come, Lookout Pool is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation of both the pool and bathhouse. These updates are designed to modernize the facility and better meet the evolving needs of our community.
Following an extensive design and consulting process, construction began in November after the completion of demolition permits and construction documents. The renovation is expected to be completed in fall 2026 and will conclude with a community open house to celebrate the transformed facility. Lookout Pool will then open fully for the 2027 summer season.
The newly renovated Lookout Pool will feature a dedicated six-lane lap pool, a zero-depth activity pool, a small current channel, and a diving board, along with a fully renovated bathhouse and changing areas. Together, these improvements will create a more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable aquatic experience for swimmers of all ages.

A: An audit completed in fall 2023 identified significant maintenance and infrastructure needs at Lookout Pool. Built in 2002, the facility’s age, limited seasonal operating window, and increasing maintenance demands prompted a careful evaluation of its long-term viability. Given the level of investment required to keep the pool safe, functional, and aligned with community needs, Trails Park and Recreation District made the decision to suspend seasonal operations in order to move forward with a comprehensive renovation.
