Upcoming Annual Pool Closure for Improvements
At Trails Recreation Center, we are dedicated to providing our community with top-notch recreational facilities that promote community, health, and family. To continue meeting this commitment, we occasionally undertake significant maintenance and improvement projects. We wanted to inform our patrons that both of our pools and different areas of the locker rooms will be closed from August 11-25 for maintenance. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, and we deeply appreciate your patience and support during this period.
The Purpose Behind the Temporary Closure:
The primary reason for this closure is to allow Myrtha Pools – our pool manufacturer – to perform warranty repairs on the pool liner, ensuring the longevity and quality of our aquatic facilities. Additionally, this downtime will enable us to carry out general deep cleaning, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs that are critical for the safety and enjoyment of our patrons.
Detailed Maintenance Plans:
Pool Area:
One of the main focuses during the closure will be the pool area. Myrtha Pools will be on-site to address warranty repairs on the pool liner, which is essential for maintaining the integrity and useful lifespan of the pools. This process requires draining the pools, which can only be done when they are not in use.
Furthermore, draining the pool will allow us to conduct a thorough deep cleaning of the pool area, ensuring that every corner is spotless and hygienic. This includes scrubbing and sanitizing the tiles, checking and maintaining the overhead lighting systems for optimal visibility, performing waterslide and mechanical system maintenance, and performing other necessary upkeep tasks to enhance the overall efficiency and aesthetic of the pools.
Locker Rooms:
Our locker rooms are an integral part of the Trails Recreation Center experience, and we are committed to ensuring they are in top condition. During the closure, we will replace the shower partitions and valves in the locker room areas, improving both the functionality and appearance of these facilities.
In addition to these updates, we will undertake underground plumbing repairs to address drainage issues in the shower stalls. This preventive maintenance is crucial for avoiding future disruptions and ensuring a seamless experience for our patrons.
Part of the locker rooms may be blocked off during this closure as we give our staff and contractors space to work. Shower and toilet facilities will be available, and the family changing room will also be available for use. We will be rotating between the different sections (wet & dry) to reduce inconvenience.

While we understand that closing the pools and locker rooms is not ideal, these renovations are necessary to maintain and improve the quality of our facilities. Once the work is complete, our patrons will benefit from a safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable environment. The improvements to the pool liner, locker rooms, and overall maintenance will enhance the experience for everyone who visits the Trails Recreation Center.

“While we as the Trails management understand this may create an inconvenience for our patrons, this closure will create an opportunity for us to address necessary maintenance and improvement projects,” Travis Toler stated about the pool closure. “We have a full list of objectives set to be completed during this closure which will ultimately improve and maintain our aquatic facilities. This includes deep cleaning the hot tub, sauna, steam room, and other facilities as well as the pools. Our priority is always to ensure that our patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience using our facilities and this closure will create an opportunity to achieve this goal going forward. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”

8/22 Maintenance Week Update:
During routine maintenance, we identified critical structural issues that require immediate attention to ensure the safety of our guests. Due to these unforeseen repairs, the reopening of our Activity Pool will be delayed by one week. Our team is working diligently with our vendors to complete these repairs as quickly as possible, and we expect the Activity Pool to reopen by August 31.
The lap pool, hot tub, steam room, locker rooms, and sauna will open as scheduled on Monday, August 26.
