Behind the Build: July 2004
July has been an exciting month for the Trails Recreation Center as we see the vision of our community hub transform into reality! With every pour of concrete and every installation of flooring, we are one step closer to opening our doors. Let’s dive into the highlights of this month’s construction progress!
Concrete and Structure: Laying the Foundation
This month, we poured concrete sidewalks that will lead visitors into our vibrant facility. The exterior patio footings, walls, and columns are now complete, along with the concrete slabs that form the foundation of our outdoor spaces. These areas are designed for gatherings, relaxation, and enjoying the beauty of our surroundings.
Roofing and Flooring: Finishing Touches
As we approach the final stages of construction, metal roofing trim work is in progress, ensuring our facility not only functions well but looks stunning too. Meanwhile, athletic and wood flooring has been stockpiled, ready for installation as we create a space that meets the needs of our diverse community activities.
Gym and Locker Room Installation
Locker installation is in full swing, complementing the installation of gym equipment. The racquetball court wall panels are nearing completion, promising to provide a top-notch experience for athletes. Plumbing fixtures are also being installed, bringing essential functionality to the facility.
Skatepark Update: Getting Ready to Ride
Exciting developments are also underway at the skatepark! The clearing and grubbing process is complete, and storm drains are being installed. Excavation of the bowl areas is currently in progress, along with concrete pours for base areas. Additionally, walls for the street step and ramp areas have begun to take shape, creating a thrilling space for skaters and BMX riders.
What's Next?
With July behind us, we’re eager to see how the next month unfolds. Each phase of construction brings us closer to the grand opening, where the community can come together to enjoy fitness, recreation, and connection.
